N.M. Court Awards $2 Million to Plaintiff in M/L Taper Hip Implant Trial Against Zimmer

SANTA FE, N.M. –– A New Mexico court has awarded more than $2 million at the conclusion of a bench trial addressing the claims of a plaintiff who brought claims against Zimmer defendants, contending that their M/L Taper Hip Prosthesis with Kinectiv Technology was defective.

In the March 31 findings of fact and conclusions of law, the New Mexico Second Judicial District for Bernalillo County awarded the plaintiff just over $2 million on his strict products liability (unreasonably dangerous design) claim, but rejected the remainder of the plaintiff’s causes of action.
