Trial to Begin on Failure-To-Warn Claims Against GSK in Paxil Suicide Action

CHICAGO — Trial is set to begin on failure-to-warn claims asserted against GlaxoSmithKline in a case in which a law firm partner committed suicide after ingesting generic Paxil.

Jury selection and opening statements are scheduled for March 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, with Judge James B. Zagel presiding. The lawsuit accuses GSK of failing to adequately warn the decedent’s physician about Paxil’s increased risk of suicidal behavior in adults of all ages.
