Plaintiffs Ask Judicial Panel to Create MDL for Physiomesh Hernia Repair Product

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Plaintiffs who have filed numerous federal lawsuits alleging injury caused by the synthetic hernia repair product Physiomesh are asking the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation to create a consolidated docket for the cases.
In a motion filed March 9, the plaintiffs request that the 18 Physiomesh cases currently pending in 9 federal districts, along with any similar future claims, be transferred to a multidistrict litigation docket in the Middle District of Florida. In the alternative, they request that Judge David R. Herndon be assigned to preside over the cases in the Southern District of Illinois.
