Zimmer Seeks Expedited Discovery from Third-Party Physician Medical Review in NexGen Knee Docket

CHICAGO –– Zimmer Inc. has filed a motion to compel expedited discovery from Physician Medical Review, saying that recent depositions of a plaintiff expert has revealed that the third-party has turned the process into a “cursory, fill-in-the-blank endeavor.”

In a Feb. 14 brief filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Zimmer said that the plaintiff’s expert’s opinion is unreliable as a result of his collaboration with PMR and that the parties have the right to an opportunity to assess the third-party’s practices in the litigation.
