DePuy Pinnacle Plaintiffs Move to Consolidate Appeals of Second and Third Bellwether Trials; Defendants Oppose Efforts

NEW ORLEANS –– Eleven DePuy Pinnacle Hip Implant plaintiffs were awarded more than $1.5 billion in two separate trials have asked the 5th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals to consolidate the appeals of those verdicts, saying that there is “substantial legal and factual overlap between” the disputes.

In the Jan. 6 motion, the plaintiffs maintained that the consolidation of the appeals of the second and third bellwether trials would not only be more efficient for the court, but also all of the parties involved in the cases.
