SAN DIEGO — A California federal judge has stayed an Eliquis injury action pending the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation’s ruling on defendants’ petition for creation of a multidistrict litigation docket in New York.
On Dec. 16, Judge Anthony J. Battaglia of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California explained that defendants could suffer significant hardship absent a stay because they might have to defend themselves in multiple fora, enhancing the risk of inconsistent rulings.
