Invokana Plaintiffs Ask JPML to Create Federal Docket in N.J.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Plaintiffs who allege that the diabetes drug Invokana causes kidney damage have asked the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation to create a federal docket for the 56 actions already filed and any future actions involving similar facts or claims.
In the Sept. 20 filing, the movants argue that Judge Brian R. Martinotti of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey should oversee the docket because their cases are already pending in that district and its judges “have substantial experience presiding over complex litigation.”
