WOBURN, Mass. — A Massachusetts judge has awarded the makers of Tysabri summary judgment on claims that they failed to warn of the risk of a rare viral brain infection posed by the drug, ruling that the warnings at the time the drug was prescribed to the plaintiff’s late wife were adequate.
On July 25, Judge Peter Krupp of the Middlesex County (Mass.) Superior Court noted that Tysabri’s black box warning explicitly warned against PML, and fully disclosed the serious consequences of that disease.
