DePuy Asks Court to Stay Pinnacle Trials Until Appeal of $502 Million Verdict is Finished

DALLAS –– DePuy Orthopaedics Inc. has asked the federal court overseeing the national coordinated docket for Pinnacle Hip Implant claims to stay additional trials pending the resolution of the appeal of the second bellwether trial cases, which ended in a $502 million verdict.
In the May 24 motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, the defendants said that the issues they intend to raise on appeal are likely to have “far-reaching implications for how cases in this MDL proceeding are tried.”
