NEW YORK — A Tennessee couple has sued Bristol-Myers Squibb and Pfizer in New York federal court, accusing them of failing to warn doctors and the public that their anticoagulant Eliquis can cause uncontrollable bleeding for which there is no antidote.
In an April 19 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the plaintiffs further allege that the drug makers failed to adequately test the drug before seeking approval from the Food and Drug Administration and misrepresented its safety in direct-to-consumer marketing materials.
