DALLAS –– DePuy Orthopaedics Inc. and Johnson & Johnson defendants involved in the ongoing consolidated trial of five plaintiffs asserting claims related to the Pinnacle Hip Implant system have moved for additional time to present their defense, arguing that the court’s sudden mandate that the close of evidence occur before March 9 would result in an “extremely uneven allocation of time between the parties.”
In the Feb. 28 motion, the defendants asked the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas for an extension of trial time, a limitation on the plaintiffs’ cross-examinations and a reconsideration of the court’s …
