LONDON, Ky. — A new lawsuit filed by a Kentucky woman accuses the makers of Eliquis of failing to warn of the risk of uncontrollable bleeding in patients taking the drug from doctors, patients, and the Food and Drug Administration.

In a Feb. 25 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky, the plaintiff accuses Bristol-Meyers Squibb and Pfizer Inc. of touting the drug as safe and effective, while hiding the risk of hemorrhagic complications and failing to warn doctors that there is no antidote to the drug.
