Pinnacle Hip Implant MDL Court Denies Motion for Mistrial in Ongoing Trial

DALLAS –– The federal court overseeing a consolidated Pinnacle Hip Implant injury trial has denied a defense motion for mistrial in a one-page order, rejecting the defendants’ position that evidence introduced by the plaintiffs has been “highly inflammatory.”
The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas issued the order denying the motion on Feb. 24. That same day, the court entered a docket entry noting that the court had adjourned on the twenty-ninth day of trial, which included testimony from the defendants’ fifth witness, Dr. Donald Belsito, M.D.
