Louisiana Federal Court Says Bone Cement Claims Against DePuy Are Timely

NEW ORLEANS –– A Louisiana federal court has rejected challenges to the timeliness of claims in a bone cement case, saying that the prescription period did not begin to run until the revision surgery.

In the Feb. 17 order, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana said that the plaintiffs’ claims were not time-barred since it was not until that revision surgery that the orthopedic surgeon knew that the bone cement is what caused the tibial component to come loose.
