CHICAGO — Guarantee Trust Life Insurance Co. has filed a second amended complaint against American Medical and Life Insurance Co. in a dispute involving medical reinsurance, arguing that AMLI has breached the parties’ reinsurance treaty by failing to pay its share of claims.
In the Jan. 15 pleading filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, GTL further asserts that the treaty requires AMLI to post security, and that its failure to pay the claims was “unreasonable and vexatious.”
