Pinnacle MDL Court Consolidates 5 Metal-on-Metal Device Cases for Trial

DALLAS –– The federal court overseeing the coordinated docket for DePuy Pinnacle Hip Implant claims has consolidated five bellwether plaintiffs’ claims for trial, saying they presented “common issues of law and fact.”

In the Jan. 8 order, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas noted that all of the plaintiffs were from the same state and all were implanted with the Pinnacle Metal-on-Metal device.

Trial in the consolidated matter began on Jan. 8 with jury selection, according to the court's online docket. Opening arguments were heard on Jan. 11.
