Invokana Makers Hid Risk of Ketoacidosis, Ala. Federal Lawsuit Charges

MOBILE, Ala. — A woman has sued the makers of Invokana in Alabama federal court, accusing them of failing to warn patients and doctors that the type 2 diabetes drug can cause diabetic ketoacidosis.

In a Dec. 15 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama, the plaintiff says defendants aggressively marketed the drug while concealing its serious, and sometimes deadly, risks.
