Tenn. Federal Lawsuit Accuses Invokana Makers of Hiding Risks of Ketoacidosis, Kidney Failure

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Tennessee man has sued the makers of diabetes drug Invokana in federal court, accusing them of failing to adequately warn him that the drug can cause stroke, heart attack, ketoacidosis and kidney failure.

In a Dec. 14 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee, the plaintiff says defendants aggressively marketed the drug while concealing its serious, and sometimes deadly, risks.
