NexGen Knee Implant MDL Judge Refuses to Exclude Testimony from Zimmer’s Expert

CHICAGO –– The federal judge overseeing the coordinated docket for NexGen Knee implant claims has ruled that testimony from a defense expert will be permitted at an upcoming bellwether trial since the doctor appears to have used reliable methods in reaching his opinions.

In an Aug. 25 opinion, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois wrote that while it “shares some of Plaintiff’s concerns,” Vitale’s testimony as a “epidemiologist and clinical researcher” would ultimately aid the jury.
