California Jury Finds for Eli Lilly in Bellwether Cymbalta Withdrawal Action




LOS ANGELES — A California federal jury has found in favor of Eli Lilly & Co. in a bellwether case concerning its antidepressant Cymbalta (duloxetine), determining that the drug maker provided adequate warnings concerning withdrawal symptoms.

In an Aug. 7 verdict, the jury, sitting in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, found for Lilly on claims of negligence, failure to warn, negligent misrepresentation, and fraud. Judge Stephen V. Wilson of the presided over the trial, which began Aug. 4.
