MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Tennessee woman has sued Teva Pharmaceuticals USA Inc., alleging that it defectively designed and tested its ParaGard intrauterine birth control device and failed to warn the medical community that it could cause serious and permanent injury.
The complaint, which was removed to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee on July 27, further asserts that the ParaGard device was defective due to inadequate warning and/or inadequate clinical trials, testing and study, and inadequate reporting of the results of such studies.
