WASHINGTON, D.C. — GlaxoSmithKline has asked a panel of federal judges to consolidate all lawsuits linking Zofran to birth defects in children whose mothers ingested the anti-nausea drug while pregnant.
In a July 6 motion filed with the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation (JPML), GSK argues that based on numerous complex and common fact questions involved in Zofran cases pending in 10 different courts around the country, there is a compelling need to coordinate the cases before a single judge, preferably one in Pennsylvania.
