New Lawsuits Accuse Eliquis Makers of Failing to Warn of Life-Threatening Bleeding

NEW YORK — The widows of two men who died after allegedly taking the anticoagulant Eliquis have sued Bristol-Myers Squibb and Pfizer in New York federal court, accusing the drug makers of failing to warn that in the event of blood hemorrhages, there is no antidote to the drug.
The June 18 complaints filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York say that despite life-threatening bleeding findings in a clinical trial, the drug makers failed to adequately test Eliquis before seeking approval from the Food and Drug Administration.
