TOLEDO, Ohio — An Ohio couple has sued GlaxoSmithKline LLC, alleging that it fraudulently promoted its anti-nausea drug Zofran as an off-label remedy for morning sickness while failing to warn that it could lead to fatal birth defects.
In a June 10 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, Patrick and Valerie Regan allege that Valerie’s ingestion of Zofran while pregnant caused their daughter to be born with heart defects, which she died from three days after her birth.
