Defendants in Olmesartan Cases Seek Creation of Formal Docket in New Jersey State Court

TRENTON, N.J. — The makers of blood pressure drugs containing olmesartan medoxomil have asked the New Jersey Supreme Court to create a formal docket for the centralized management of 59 products liability cases in which they have been named as defendants.

In a May 18 motion, Daiichi Sankyo Inc., Daiichi Sankyo U.S. Holdings Inc., Daiichi Sankyo Company Ltd., Forest Laboratories Inc., Forest Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Forest Research Institute Inc. argue that the litigation involves many claims with common, recurrent issues of law and fact, all associated with a similar product.
