La. Federal Judge Dismisses Stryker Press-Fit Hip Lawsuit With Prejudice

SHREVEPORT, La. — A Louisiana federal judge has dismissed with prejudice a woman’s claims that her Stryker hip implant was defective, explaining that the claims are not viable under the Louisiana Product Liability Act.

In a March 18 order, Judge Donald E. Walter of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana noted that the plaintiff failed to cite the LPLA in her complaint and that her allegations are merely “threadbare recitals supported by mere conclusory statements.”
