Iowa Judge Orders Wright to Prepare Witness to Testify on Design, Development of Profemur Prototype

SIOUIX CITY, Iowa — An Iowa federal magistrate judge has ordered Wright Medical Technology Inc. to prepare a witness to testify as to design, development and testing of an Italian hip implant device that served as a prototype for the Profemur hip implant at issue in the present case.

On Feb. 25, Chief Magistrate Judge Jon S. Scoles of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa held that plaintiffs are entitled to discover the role the Italian prototype played in the development of the device at issue.
