Judge Excludes Testimony of Key Plaintiffs’ Experts in N.J. Accutane Litigation

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The judge overseeing the New Jersey Accutane (isotretinoin) multicounty litigation docket has granted Hoffman-LaRoche’s motion to exclude the testimony of two plaintiffs’ experts who linked the acne drug is to Crohn’s disease.

On Feb. 20, Judge Nelson C. Johnson of the New Jersey Superior Court Law Division, Atlantic County, ruled that the experts “cherry picked the evidence in order to find support for their conclusion-driven testimony in support of a hypothesis made of disparate pieces, all at the bottom of the medical evidence hierarchy.”

There are currently more than 6,700 Accutane actions consolidated before Judge …
