Florida Woman Files RICO Action Against Ethicon, Says it Conspired With FDA to Hide TVM Risks

MIAMI — A Florida woman has accused Ethicon Inc., Johnson & Johnson and the Food and Drug Administration of violating the Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organizations Act by conspiring to influence doctors to use defective transvaginal mesh products in the treatment of incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.

The Feb. 4 lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida says the defendants engaged in a massive cover up to hide the real risks vs. benefits of Ethicon’s Gynecare TVT System and Prolift mesh kit.
