CAMDENTON, Mo. — A confidential settlement has been reached in an Ethicon Gynecare Prolift System transvaginal mesh case, in which a Missouri man alleged that his wife developed severe infections caused by the device’s propylene mesh, ultimately leading to her death.
The trial against Johnson & Johnson and Ethicon Inc. began on Jan. 8 in the Camden County (Mo.) Circuit Court with Judge William Hass presiding. A settlement was reached on Jan. 21, sources told HarrisMartin.
