WASHINGTON, D.C. — Over the objections of Janssen Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Johnson & Johnson, the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has granted plaintiffs’ request to centralize all federal Xarelto injury actions in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana before Judge Eldon E. Fallon.

In a Dec. 12 order, the panel explained that while the 21 actions “present a number of individualized factual issues,” they also present several common issues, including the adequacy of Xarelto’s warning label as to the risk of severe bleeding, the results of certain clinical studies, and the alleged need for blood monitoring.
