CHICAGO — An Illinois woman has accused the makers of the TRIGEN Hindfoot Fusion Nail system of defectively designing the device, rendering it prone to fractures and total failure, and of failing to warn surgeons of the device’s risks.
The Nov. 28 complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, says the device is susceptible to increased metal corrosion and that the manufacturing errors included “size tolerances out of specification and not within the industry acceptable standards.”
