Calif. Parties in DePuy ASR Coordinated Docket Confer on Pending Discovery, Bellwether Criteria

SAN FRANCISCO –– Parties involved in California’s coordinated DePuy ASR hip implant docket were recently ordered to meet and confer on a number of pending issues, including outstanding discovery and criteria for bellwether cases.
According to an Oct. 30 order issued by the California Superior Court for San Francisco County, the parties were then to informally report these discussions to Judge Richard A. Kramer.
Recently, Judge Kramer denied motions to re-transfer claims filed by several plaintiffs who are not participating in the national settlement program established for those allegedly injured by the hip implant.
