NEWARK, N.J. — A New Jersey federal judge has transferred a pelvic mesh device case to the Southern District of Florida, finding the facts underlying the plaintiffs’ allegations occurred in Florida, where the device was implanted, rather than in New Jersey, where the device allegedly failed.

On Nov. 7, Magistrate Judge Joseph A. Dickson of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey further ruled that the sole defendant, Uroplasty Inc., lacks “systemic and continuous” affiliations with New Jersey and did not “purposefully direct” business activities toward that state.
