Celebrex No More Effective Than Older Drugs
at Reducing the Risk of Recurrent Ulcer Bleeding

A recent study conducted by researchers at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong concluded that Celebrex (celecoxib), one of the nation's top-selling arthritis drugs, may not be more effective than older anti-inflammatory drugs at reducing the risk of recurrent ulcer bleeding in patients with arthritis.
The findings of the study entitled "Celecoxib Versus Diclofenac and Omeprazole in Reducing the Risk of Recurrent Ulcer Bleeding in Patients with Arthritis" were published in the Dec. 26 issue of The New England Journal of Medicine.
