HOUSTON — A Texas federal judge has dismissed for lack of jurisdiction the claims of 76 plaintiffs who allege they were injured by Ethicon Inc.’s transvaginal mesh products, ruling that the defendants lack the requisite contacts with Texas.
On Nov. 10, Judge Kenneth Hoyt of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas found Ethicon and Johnson & Johnson’s operations in Texas “are not so substantial and of such nature as to render them at home in the state.”
