La. Federal Judge Refuses to Issue Lone Pine Order in Atrium Hernia Mesh Case

NEW ORLEANS — A Louisiana federal judge has denied Atrium Medical Corp.’s request for a Lone Pine order requiring the plaintiff in a hernia mesh case to provide facts about his case via expert reports, ruling that such an order is not warranted at this time.
On Oct. 21, Judge Sarah S. Vance of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana found Atrium has failed to show that the plaintiff’s case presents procedural complexities or case management issues that warrant the entry of a Lone Pine order.
