JPML Centralizes Cook Vena Cava Filter Actions in Indiana Federal Court

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has granted plaintiffs’ motion to centralize product liability actions involving the Cook Medical Inc. inferior vena cava filter in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.
In an Oct. 15 order, the panel explained that the lawsuits involve common questions of fact, and that centralization will serve the convenience of the parties and witnesses and promotes the just and efficient conduct of the litigation.
