Defective Pedicle Screw Case to Proceed Against Stryker in South Carolina

GREENVILLE, S.C. — A South Carolina federal judge has allowed a pedicle screw action to proceed against Stryker Sales Corp., finding the plaintiffs have sufficiently alleged that they were injured by defective screws manufactured by the company.
On Aug. 20, Judge Bruce H. Hendricks of the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina held that while the allegations “are not a model of clarity or specificity,” plaintiffs have advanced a plausible basis for relief.
