Zimmer Moves for Sanctions in 3 NexGen Knee Implant Cases; Plaintiff Says Case Not Filed in Bad Faith

CHICAGO –– Zimmer inc. has moved for sanctions in three NexGen Knee Implant lawsuits, contending that it should be reimbursed for costs it has incurred in preparing the cases for trial when the plaintiffs had no intention of pursuing the claims.

However, in a Sept. 4 opposition brief filed by one of the three plaintiffs in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the plaintiff maintained that the case was not filed in bad faith.
