Plaintiffs Ask JPML to Transfer Cymbalta Withdrawal Cases for Coordinated Pretrial Proceedings

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Plaintiffs accusing Eli Lilly & Co. of hiding the risk of injuries related to Cymbalta withdrawal have moved the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation to consolidate their actions in California federal court for coordinated pretrial proceedings.
In an Aug. 15 petition, plaintiffs asked the panel to centralize 28 actions in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, arguing that they involve common questions of fact, including Cymbalta’s capacity to cause withdrawal injuries and whether Lilly properly warned about the risks of withdrawal.
