PHOENIX — An Arizona federal judge has granted Novartis Pharmaceutical Corp.’s motion to strike the expert reports of Dr. Robert Marx in an Aredia/Zometa case, finding they do not contain facts supporting Marx’s opinion that the plaintiff’s osteonecrosis of the jaw was caused by the bisphosphonate drugs.
On July 23, Judge Neil V. Wake of the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona held that the case-specific reports are “conclusory and fail to provide any factual support for the opinion they express.”
