JPML Vacates Transfer of Knee Implant Cases to MDL Docket in Illinois; Says Cases Involve Non-Flex Components

WASHINGTON, D.C. –– The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has vacated a previous transfer order that sent two knee implant cases to the Zimmer Nexgen MDL, ruling that the cases should not be included in the docket since they involve non-flex components.

In the June 6 order, the JPML vacated orders transferring Cruz v. Zimmer Inc., et al., (No. 14-00806) from the District of Maryland and Brizendine v. Zimmer Inc., et al., (No. 14-00035) from the Eastern District of Texas to the Northern District of Illinois.
