Plaintiff Backs Encore Knee Implant Claims, Says Complaint Provides ‘Ample’ Factual Support of Malfunction

HARRISBURG, Pa. –– A plaintiff asserting Encore knee implant personal injury claims has defended her complaint against defense efforts to dismiss, contending that she has provided “ample” factual support to support her claims.

In the May 16 response brief filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the plaintiff further said that the facts of the case “clearly demonstrate a malfunction of the Encore knee.”

Helen E. Houtz asserted the claims, contending that she was injured as a result of a defective prosthetic knee implant manufactured by the defendants. Houtz required additional surgery after the …
