Nevada State Court Jury Returns Defense Verdict in Two Actos Bladder Cancer Cases

LAS VEGAS — A Nevada state court jury has returned a verdict in favor of Takeda Pharmaceuticals America Inc., rejecting claims that it failed to warn two women and their doctors that ingesting the diabetes drug Actos could led to an increased risk of developing bladder cancer.

The jury, sitting in Department IV of the Nevada Judicial District Court, Clark County, returned the defense verdict just moments ago at the conclusion of a two-month trial that began on March 10. Judge Kerry Earley presided over the trial.
