CHICAGO –– Parties involved in the federal coordinated Zimmer NexGen Knee Implant Products Liability Litigation docket have reached a resolution regarding the production of a witness the plaintiffs’ steering committee contended received more than $10 million as a consultant for the defendant.
According to an online docket entry with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, a hearing held on May 7 revealed that the plaintiffs’ motion to strike the testimony of the consultant and, additionally, for sanctions had been resolved. Zimmer had opposed the motion, calling the accusations “inflammatory,” and “hyperbole.”
