PHILADELPHIA — A Pennsylvania federal judge has transferred a Paxil birth defect case filed against GlaxoSmithKline to the Eastern District of Kentucky, finding that all of the critical events at issue occurred in Kentucky and a significant number of witnesses and documents are in that state.
On April 9, Judge John R. Padova of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania added that because the plaintiff, her doctors and her medical records are in Kentucky, trial in Kentucky will be easier and less expensive.
