LAFAYETTE, La. — A Louisiana federal judge has dismissed a products liability action brought against Biomedical Enterprises Inc. in connection with its HammerLock foot implant device, ruling that the plaintiff failed to meet the requirements of the Louisiana Products Liability Act.
In the March 27 order, Judge Rebecca F. Doherty of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana also noted that plaintiff did not oppose Biomedical’s motion for summary judgment.
Ruth Broussard alleged that the HammerLock device, which had been implanted in her foot to correct her hammertoe, fractured and caused her to sustain injuries.
