WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — A Pennsylvania woman has sued the manufacturer and supplier of the Encore Foundation Knee System for injuries she sustained more than 10 years after having the device surgically implanted.
In a lawsuit now pending in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, Helen Houtz alleges that the sudden, premature failure of her prosthetic knee implant in 2011 resulted from the same defect that the device manufacturer was aware of in 1995.
