Suits Accuse Auxilium, GSK, of Failing to Warn of Side Effects Caused by Testosterone Drug Testim

PHILADELPHIA — Two couples have sued Auxilium Pharmaceuticals Inc. and GlaxoSmithKline in Pennsylvania state court, accusing them of aggressively marketing their testosterone therapy drug Testim while failing to warn users of life-threatening side effects such as blood clots and stroke.
The complaints, filed March 12 and 18 in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas, says the drug makers knew, or should have known, of the risks posed by Testim, including myocardial infarction, cerebrovascular accident, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and sudden cardiovascular death.
